1. Zvíkov Village: The most popular campsite according to Czechs
When Czechs choose the best campsite themselves, they pick Zvíkov Village. It won the Campsite of the Year 2024 poll and in 2025 defended its top positions in categories for active holidays and families with pets. It is located directly at the confluence of the Vltava and Otava rivers, below Zvíkov Castle.
It is a modern, year-round family campsite in a Scandinavian style. You can find accommodation in stylish log cabins and cottages, but also under a tent or in a motorhome. You can swim right on the premises: the campsite has its own natural "Zvíkov Sea" with a beach of fine white sand, ideal even for the little ones. And those who crave a classic pool have one within reach, just 500 meters away is the public swimming pool Zvíkovské Podhradí with a 25-meter pool, a children's pool with a slide, and a paddling pool. The comfortable facilities of the campsite repeatedly collect praise in reviews, and thanks to the proximity of the dam and rivers, it is also a paradise for fishermen.

2. Autocamp Sedmihorky: The heart of Bohemian Paradise
Holder of two titles: Campsite of the Year 2025 and Best Family Campsite 2025. Autocamp Sedmihorky lies at the entrance to the Hrubá Skála Rock City in the heart of Bohemian Paradise, surrounded by old oaks and forests.
You can swim in a pond with a sandy beach right on the premises. The biggest attraction for children, however, is the covered playroom Mlýn, a 12.5-meter-high labyrinth full of climbing frames, slides, and trampolines, with a café for parents. The campsite also includes mini-golf, table tennis, boat rentals, a playground, and an animal farm. A great bonus is the animation programs for children: the basic ones are included in the price, some are paid extra. From my own experience, I know that children were enthusiastic about bird of prey shows, wall climbing, or arts and crafts. The facilities are top-notch: baby room, central kitchen, laundry, barrier-free showers, restaurant, and kiosks. It is open practically the whole season, from February to November.

3. Vranovská pláž Campsite: Holiday Park on the "Moravian Sea"
The Vranov Reservoir is nicknamed the "Moravian Sea" and the Vranovská pláž campsite (Holiday Park) right on its shore is one of the largest and best-equipped campsites in the Czech Republic. It regularly ranks at the top in satisfaction surveys.
A sandy beach, shallow water by the shore, and plenty of attractions (water sports, pedal boats, electric scooters, windsurfing) make this place one of the best addresses in the area of campsites for families with children. For little adventurers, there are daily animation programs and a children's corner, and in the evening, a popular summer cinema. You can stay in everything from tents to cabins to comfortable mobile homes and apartments. This is a holiday in South Moravia straight out of a catalog.

4. Camp Strážnice: Swimming pool with a slide in South Moravia
A bit further in southeastern Moravia, in the land of wine and folklore, lies Camp Strážnice, a popular and well-rated classic among guests. Its trump card? Its own swimming pool with a slide right on the premises!
In addition, there is accommodation in cabins, tents, and apartments, bicycle rentals, a restaurant, and plenty of fun for children. A great base for discovering the Slovácko region and cycling along the Baťa Canal.

Side note: The largest and most famous campsite in South Moravia is probably ATC Merkur in Pasohlávky on the shore of the Nové Mlýny Reservoir (two lagoons, sandy beaches, slide). The campsite is well-equipped and right next door is Aqualand Moravia, so there is no shortage of fun. However, it is very large and busy in the main season; reviews mention night noise and murky water in summer (which I recall from my own experience). If you are heading here, bet on weekdays or the pre-season.
5. Camping Rožnov: Family paradise in the Beskydy Mountains
Let's move east, below Radhošť into the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area, where in the Valašsko region you will find one of the best-rated campsites in the entire selection. Camping Rožnov regularly holds top positions in the Camping TOP 20 poll and collects great reviews from families for kind owners, cleanliness, and a relaxed atmosphere.
For children, it is a complete amusement park. Right on the premises, you will find a mini-zoo with sheep, piglets, and a goat, trampolines, X-Bungee, pedal and electric car rentals, a children's playground, and a covered corner for bad weather. Parents will appreciate the wellness center with a hot tub and saunas. You can stay in cabins, apartments, or arrive with a caravan or tent.
The biggest benefit, however, is the location: swimming is just a stone's throw away. Just a minute's walk away is a summer swimming pool full of slides and water attractions. You can reach the Wallachian Open-Air Museum, the most visited open-air museum in the country, in five minutes on foot. Nearby is also the Gibon rope park and the cable car to Pustevny and Radhošť.

6. Camping Olšina: Peaceful Lipno and Šumava nature
Camping Olšina lies directly on the shore of Lipno near Černá v Pošumaví, in the middle of the protected Šumava nature.
It has its own beach with direct access to the water, boat and bicycle rentals, a sports area, and space for water sports. Guests highlight mainly the peace and natural character; it is the antipode to overcrowded water parks and an ideal place for families who want both swimming and silence. Lipno is also a paradise for cyclists and a popular tourist destination, so bring your bike.

7. Camp Dolce: Krkonoše within reach
A short distance from Trutnov, at the foot of the Krkonoše Mountains, you will find Camp Dolce, the best campsite in the Hradec Králové Region in the 2025 Campsite of the Year poll and one of the awarded family campsites. It offers natural swimming, animation programs for children, and safe shallow entries into the water.
It is a great choice when you want to combine relaxation by the water with trips to the mountains. Let's be fair, though: reviews are a bit more mixed. Guests praise the peace, space, and nature, while some complained about higher prices and older sanitary facilities. For us, it is still clearly worth it, just don't expect a five-star resort.
Children will be interested in the nearby Pecka Play Landscape above Velká Úpa. It is a collection of giant wooden play sculptures in the form of Krkonoše animals, scattered across a mountain meadow at an altitude of over a thousand meters, including educational signs. Entry is free, just keep in mind that a paid cable car leads up to Portášky from Velká Úpa (or you can hike up on foot).
The second tip is the children's park Hříčky Buky (formerly Baldův svět) in nearby Mladé Buky. On an area of almost four hectares, trampolines, slides, a three-story 3D labyrinth, cable cars, a mini-zoo with goats, and a popular water playground with canals, water wheels, and sluices await, where children play with water. Entry is paid, but from 1 PM, discounted admission applies.

8. Autokemp Kokořín: Fairytale Kokořínsko
The last tip leads to Kokořínsko, a region of deep forests, sandstone rocks, and romantic valleys. Autokemp Kokořín lies directly below the castle of the same name, surrounded by protected nature (Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area).
Reviews describe it as quiet, clean, and genuinely family-oriented, without night noise, with helpful staff and at favorable prices. The facilities are older but always maintained. Exactly the place for families with smaller children who are looking for peace and discovery in the vicinity of the campsite, not a big hustle and bustle.

Which campsites are suitable for families with caravans?
Good news for caravanners: you can park a motorhome or caravan in practically every campsite from our selection. The difference is in the facilities, so it pays to look at a few things. The basics are electrical connections at the pitch, a service point for discharging waste and chemical water and refilling drinking water, and a sufficiently large and flat surface.
If you want certainty, go for Vranovská pláž, which was awarded as the best campsite for caravanners in 2025 and offers comfortable equipped pitches. Zvíkov Village also operates year-round with comfort for motorhomes, and large areas like Camping Rožnov or Merkur in Pasohlávky have plenty of space. In the main season, it is always useful to book a spot in advance; the most popular campsites tend to be full.
What types of accommodation do campsites for families with children offer?
The beautiful thing about camping is that you choose the comfort exactly tailored to your wallet and mood. The cheapest and most adventurous is your own tent on a designated meadow; right next to it is usually a spot for a caravan and motorhome with an electrical connection. Those who don't want to sleep on the ground will reach for a cabin or log cabin, often already with bedding and its own terrace.
Families who want comfort almost like at home will appreciate mobile homes (fully equipped mobile houses), bungalows, or apartments with a kitchenette and private sanitary facilities. Some campsites also think about the experience and offer sleeping in a tee-pee or in a tent with a wooden base. When choosing a campsite, it is therefore worth looking not only at swimming but precisely at this equipment. It is what decides whether the children will be satisfied.
Bonus: three tips for campsites for lovers of rocks and peace
Not every family wants a slide and an animation program. And so, a few extra tips for those who don't care about water attractions and prefer sandstone towers, forests, and silence… These campsites are more modest and intimate, but they are a short distance from the most beautiful rock cities in the Czech Republic. Do not head to narrow rock paths and stairs between towers with a stroller; with the smallest children, a high-quality child carrier or baby carrier is worth it.
Pod Císařem Campsite (Ostrov u Tisé, Bohemian Switzerland). It lies on the border of Bohemian Switzerland and the Ore Mountains. There is no reservoir or slide here, but a few steps away stand the legendary Tisa Walls, a giant sandstone labyrinth that children walk through with their mouths open. You can stay in cabins or under a tent. The inn also thinks about gluten-free and vegetarian cuisine. Swimming is possible in a smaller flow-through reservoir directly below the reception and pub or in the nearby Ostrov pond.

Mezní Louka Campsite (Mezní Louka settlement, Bohemian Switzerland). An ideal starting point for the most famous trips in the national park. You can head straight from your tent to the Pravčická Gate, the gorges of the Kamenice River, and the Lynx Trail; Hřensko is only 5 km away. An intimate campsite for tourist families who want to have nature at their doorstep.

Autokemp Bučnice (Adršpach-Teplice Rocks). Hidden in the picturesque valley of the Metuje River between the Adršpach and Teplice Rocks, on the edge of the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area. Great for families and climbers who want to have the famous rock city right around the corner.
