The history of the legendary Nalgene brand bottles began in 1949 in New York, when American chemist Emanuel Goldberg produced the first plastic test tube. His team of experts initially focused on developing and manufacturing plastic containers that served as laboratory equipment. However, during the 1960s, some of these became so popular with scientists that they decided to use them for personal purposes as well. Since the bottles were lightweight and sealed well, they were most often taken hiking in the mountains as water bottles.

The bottles are made in the USA and can be hygienically washed in a dishwasher.

Great emphasis is also placed on durability. Strong impacts, as well as low or high temperatures, are no cause for concern.
