About the brand
The brand of hardshell travel suitcases – IMPACKT – was created with the vision of bringing more sustainability, responsibility, and awareness of ecotourism to the luggage manufacturing industry, thanks to which we can, with joint efforts, do even more to make the world a better place for everyone.
The goal of the IMPACKT brand, which builds its know-how on the many years of experience of the leading German travel luggage manufacturer – travelite, is to merge ecological thinking with the sustainability of mass production, high quality standards, an affordable price, and modern design to create durable and reliable suitcases that will be a suitable alternative for those who want to live more sustainably, yet still afford the joy of travel, which in itself, despite a number of improvements, is not yet very sustainable.
The shell of the IMPACKT IP1 suitcases is made of 46% recycled polypropylene and the lining of 100% recycled polyester woven from reprocessed sorted PET bottles. The recycled material is sourced as a raw material only from suppliers who hold the international Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification. This, among other things, confirms to consumers that such labeled textile products were indeed produced in an environmentally friendly way. The transparent supply chain also allows customers to trace information about business partners and about the method and mechanisms of monitoring compliance with social and ethical standards.
To ensure the suitcases fulfill their mission and accompany you as a sustainable partner for a really long time, they are easily repairable if needed. This is made possible not only by the meticulously thought-out innovative construction, but also by the manufacturer's service center, which has spare parts.
The suitcases undergo demanding testing, thanks to which the manufacturer guarantees an extended 6-year warranty. As part of development and quality control, it is verified that the individual components meet a number of strictly set criteria. The wheels must be able to travel a distance of 30 to 50 km on various types of surfaces with a fully loaded suitcase. The top and side handles must withstand up to 5,000 mechanical lifts, and the retractable handles must be able to be extended and retracted without damage at least 2,800 times. For testing the shell's durability, fully loaded IMPACKT IP1 suitcases must withstand several free falls to the ground from a height of 1.2 m with an impact on each corner, each wheel separately, and all four wheels simultaneously.
IMPACKT collaborates with the organizations Peta and Climate Partner. During production, it measures and compensates for its carbon footprint and also checks whether the materials used contain potentially dangerous and undesirable substances.
