The deuter Freerider 28 SL women's backpack is ideal for ski touring, freeride, and snowshoeing. It features equipment attachment, hydration system compatibility, and water resistance.

Hit the powder with confidence and style. The Deuter Freerider 28 SL women's ski touring backpack is designed for all winter mountain enthusiasts looking for a reliable and perfectly fitting companion. Whether you're heading out for a ski touring trip, a freeride descent, or a snowshoeing excursion, this backpack offers uncompromising comfort and smart gear organization, so you can enjoy every moment to the fullest.

At its core is the anatomical SL fit, tailored to the female physique, ensuring the backpack sits perfectly and doesn't restrict movement, even on steep ascents. The innovative LITE SNOW back system is not only ultralight, but its special surface repels snow and doesn't absorb moisture. Your back will stay dry and comfortable all day long. A brilliant feature is the full access to the main compartment via the back panel. This allows you to quickly access your gear without having to remove attached skis or a snowboard.

Safety in the mountains comes first. That's why it features a separate, quickly accessible pocket for an avalanche probe and shovel. Your ski goggles will be protected in a special fleece-lined pocket, and valuables can be safely stored in an internal compartment. Thoughtfully designed straps and loops also allow you to securely attach all your winter gear, from ice axes and helmets to snowshoes. Everything has its designated place and is always within reach.

Why choose this ski touring backpack?

  • Women's SL Fit: Perfectly adapts to shorter backs and narrower shoulders.
  • Back Access: Easy entry to the main compartment without removing skis or snowboard.
  • Low Weight: Only 980 g saves your energy on ascents.
  • Ideal Volume: 28 L capacity for single-day winter adventures.
  • Dry Back: The LITE SNOW back system actively repels snow.
  • Safety Pocket: Separate compartment for your avalanche gear.
  • Durable Material: Recycled 200D Polyamide ripstop withstands anything.
  • Versatile Attachments: For skis, snowboard, snowshoes, and ice axes.

The Deuter Freerider 28 SL is more than just a backpack; it's a reliable partner for your winter adventures, designed with your comfort and safety in mind. Get yours and enjoy the freedom of powder without compromise!

    About the brand

The Deuter company is the oldest backpack brand in existence. It was founded by Hans Deuter in 1898 in the German city of Augsburg-Oberhausen and at the turn of the century, it supplied the Bavarian Post with bags and mail sacks. From 1905, they also focused on renting large tents. Further development in 1910 brought the production of the first backpacks, tents, and an expansion of bags and other accessories, primarily for military equipment. After the First World War, the company continued to grow; in addition to expanding production to leather backpacks and bags, it also began to produce suitcases and tarps, and continued to focus on manufacturing tents, which it rented out for events like Oktoberfest. The first mountaineering expedition with Deuter backpacks and equipment headed to the Pamir Mountains in 1928. Deuter supplied German mountaineers with its equipment until the 1970s, before the market expanded with other brands. The first real hit was the Tauern backpack, developed in 1934, which dominated mountaineering expeditions for thirty years. It was even used by Hermann Buhl during his first ascent of Nanga Parbat (8,125 m) in 1953.

In 1939, the Deuter factories were subordinated to the totalitarian German regime and used for the arms industry. After the war, the company tried to quickly get back on its feet and expand through innovation. The start of nylon backpack production in 1968 was a breakthrough, and Deuter soon became the number one backpack brand on the German market. A significant change also came in 1985, when Deuter patented the revolutionary Deuter Aircomfort back system, which, with some modifications, is still produced today. In 1988, Deuter added experienced mountaineers and mountain guides to its team, who have since been involved in the development of new functional backpacks. This trend continues in collaboration with the German Association of Mountain and Ski Guides, which the company established in 1997.

The company achieved considerable success with its cycling backpacks. In 1990, a collection of bike backpacks with the Airstripes back system was introduced. 15 years later, the company developed the SHIELD System – an integrated spine protector that offers greater safety for adrenaline enthusiasts. The Attack backpacks, thanks to the Shield system, won a gold medal for innovation at Eurobike. In 2006, Deuter introduced another improvement, the SL-WOMEN'S FIT system. Deuter backpacks with the SL abbreviation are specially shaped for women.

Today, the company has grown significantly – it is represented in 45 countries. Deuter ranks among the TOP 5 backpack sellers in the world. Thanks to constant innovation, quality Deuter backpacks are an excellent choice for lovers of an active life. Deuter is a member of the Bluesign group, which guarantees sustainable production of textile products in harmony with nature and with respect for people.

Very popular are the multifunctional Freerider backpacks, the comfortable and flexible Futura backpacks, the ACT Lite trekking packs with a very large storage capacity, the practical waist packs, or the Giga laptop backpacks.
