REVIEW: March Gotthard Beauty Case

April 7, 2026 3 min read
Can a beauty case be more than just a cosmetic bag, or is it a practical companion for short trips? Find out how the March beauty case performed during our travels in our review.

+ removable mirror- limited color range
+ strap for attaching to luggage handle
+ lockable zipper sliders

Deciding whether to buy a small cosmetic case is a tough question. It has its pros and cons, and it is clear that you can travel without one. However, something about it intrigued me, and I was curious to see if it could make traveling more pleasant and easier. So, I had to test it for myself. I chose the March Gotthard Beauty Case White, which matches my March Gotthard Cabin Size suitcase perfectly.

A case for more than just cosmetics

March Gotthard Beauty Case Review
I must admit that I am not one of those women who need the entire contents of their bathroom for a vacation. For me, a beauty case is luggage not just for cosmetics, but for other things too. I most often use the case for short, usually two-day trips or art workshops. For two days, I packed comfortably – toothbrush, toothpaste, a few small items, and even clothes fit inside without any problems. Towels, soap, and other essentials are usually available at the hotel, so there is no need to bring them along.

Practical inside and out

Since I carry few personal items to workshops, but always fill a large suitcase with art supplies, I welcomed the elastic strap for attaching to the telescopic handle of a suitcase, which the March Gotthard Beauty Case features.

The internal layout of the case is purely functional. On one side, there is a zippered divider. I usually put spare clothes in there – a t-shirt, nightgown, and some underwear. On the divider, there are two spacious pockets with elastic bands and a removable mirror. I usually left the mirror at home and preferred to put travel slippers in the pockets.

In the middle of the case, there is a sewn-in (about 18 cm large) zippered pocket, suitable for small cosmetics, makeup, and other trifles. In the other half of the case, there is a row of five elastic loops for holding a toothbrush, toothpaste, small creams, a hairbrush, and similar items. The last storage feature is a small pocket with an elastic band, hanging from the top edge of the case.

The interior space is large enough even for a travel hairdryer or curling iron.

A stylish accessory and practical carry-on

I have used the beauty case a few times as a second carry-on bag for the plane. In that case, I stored my tablet and cosmetics in small containers allowed on board. During check-in, I just had to open the case and let it go through security. I like the case for its clean design and practical internal layout. Attaching it to the handle of a larger suitcase is a handy feature. What I would criticize about this model is the absence of a shoulder strap. If you don't have the case attached to a large suitcase, you have no choice but to carry it by the handle, which is relatively narrow and uncomfortable for a larger hand (tested on my husband :-)). The zipper sliders are equipped with eyelets for a lock. However, I never felt the need to lock the case. On the bottom of the case, there are small feet for stability and to prevent scratching. So, what is the conclusion? With the March Gotthard beauty case, you can effectively complete your travel look, and at the same time, keep your small items neatly organized thanks to the internal layout. However, taking only the case instead of a handbag is unfortunately not very comfortable without a shoulder strap.
