Beauty Case, Codename Chameleon
When and for what is a beauty case actually suitable? It will be a great helper when traveling by plane. In addition to protecting delicate cosmetic equipment, it will serve as a quick rescue to refresh your appearance after a demanding journey, without the need to unpack the entire contents of a large suitcase.
However, don't forget the strict regulations regarding liquids. The total volume of liquids you can take on board an airplane is 1 liter, in bottles with a maximum volume of 100 ml. This applies not only to perfumes and lotions but also to creams and toothpaste. Therefore, always keep this rule in mind when packing.
But it doesn't end with cosmetics. Larger models of beauty cases can even fit tablets or small laptops. These versatile cases allow you to keep everything you need not only with you but also safe within a hard-shell casing.
Beauty cases are also useful for car trips. Here, you are no longer limited by any restrictions. You can safely pack cosmetics for the whole family into one small piece of luggage and have everything at hand if needed.
The water resistance of beauty cases will also be appreciated by travelers who use campsites or travel by caravan. There are often no shelves for arranging or at least putting down bottles, tubes, and toiletries. A freestanding case is thus a clever solution.
How to choose the right one?
Beauty case sizes range from approximately 15 to 23 liters. Smaller cases are suitable for one, or at most two, minimalist travelers. Cases with a larger volume are then suitable for entire families. Alternatively, you can use part of their space for a few items of clothing. A second criterion can be the material used and the surface finish. Just like large suitcases, small beauty cases are also made from various durable materials. You may encounter a textile version (Travelite Orlando Beauty Case), which, while it won't crack, is not waterproof. Moreover, it may not adequately protect any glass bottles. This case is suitable as an alternative to a cosmetic bag; it is freestanding and holds its shape well. [gallery link="file" ids="4822,4823,4824"] Most beauty cases, however, are hard-shell, as they are designed as an accessory to some successful luggage lines. They thus have a matching design and the same material as their larger counterparts. For example, the case for the Travelite Vector series is made of ABS plastic, which stands out especially for its opening system – the main compartment serves as the base of the case, and the lid flips open to the side. Perfectly clear organization is guaranteed. A much more common internal arrangement for beauty cases, however, is division into two halves, similar to classic suitcases. When opened, the case unfolds and is held in an open position by textile straps. These straps are attached with Velcro or a snap on most models, and once released, the case can be opened to its maximum position. You can find side straps, for example, on the Titan Limit Beauty Case model, which also has a removable shoulder strap. [gallery link="file" ids="4831,4830,4829"]Fancy more space?
An example of a beauty case suitable as an alternative to small travel luggage is the March Gotthard Beauty Case, which, thanks to its clever internal organization, also offers a separate space for a few items of clothing. The case also includes a small removable mirror. What it unfortunately lacks, however, is a shoulder strap. You can, however, improvisely attach it to the trolley handle of a suitcase using the elastic band on the back of the case. A truly large and luxurious beauty case is the Titan Spotlight Flash Beauty Case. It features side release straps and a removable shoulder strap. The internal equipment includes a mirror, several pockets and elastic bands for organizing cosmetics inside the case, a zippered compartment for larger items, and a separate transparent pouch for liquids, also suitable for airport security checks. The case has a luxurious high-gloss polycarbonate finish. With it, you will truly be unmissable. :-) A similarly designed product is the Titan X2 Beauty Case, which differs mainly in its external design. The internal organization is very similar.
What pleasantly surprised us, even exceeded our expectations, was the Beauty Case from Stratic. The fine brushing of the outer material ensures its longer lifespan and scratch resistance. The case includes a shoulder strap and an elastic band for attaching it to the trolley handle of a suitcase.
On the front, there is an integrated TSA lock for maximum security of our shampoos. :-) The numerous pockets and loops inside will make packing easier and ensure safe storage of even liquid products. And if, despite this, something spills into the case, the entire bottom is lined with a plastic film, so you can simply wipe everything clean. The entire case comes in a non-woven fabric cover, which can be used for storage.
Now the decision is yours, which option you will prefer. Will design or practicality win, volume or material?
