As you surely know from our recently published article, our company team decided to sponsor the breeding of the red panda at Brno Zoo. For several years now, they have been organizing the Adoptive Parents Day – a full-day event with an interesting program, which this year fell on Saturday, August 27th.
The entire program according to the flyer started only at two in the afternoon, which suited us quite well, as we had spent the previous day at a wedding. The weather was also in our favor, so we were looking forward to the whole event. The opening took place on the stage near the African village, where the director MVDr. Martin Hovorka, Ph.D. said a few words about sponsoring local animals, but also about the great progress and innovations that the Zoo has been able to implement thanks to sponsors in recent years.
It must be noted that the whole garden is truly changing for the better. Since my childhood, many beautiful pavilions and enclosures for various animals have been added, from tigers and bears to birds and reptiles. It is truly visible how the entire character of the garden is changing – living conditions are adapted to individual animal species and they are provided with the most natural living space possible. This is also one of the reasons why we decided to support Brno Zoo.

Part of the first accompanying block was a performance by the band O5 a Radeček, which was represented by two of its members. After four songs, it was time to draw the winners of the competition for a trip to Legoland sponsored by Fujifilm, followed by a program for children in the form of a theater full of games and songs.

In the adjacent African village, visitors had the opportunity to refresh themselves and use the seating area with a view of the zebra and giraffe enclosure. It is currently also inhabited by two giraffe calves, which, however, are constantly hiding timidly behind their mother, so it is not at all easy to capture them with a camera.

Subsequently, we moved to the Indian tee-pee, because a small snack was waiting for us there too. We chose a suitable roasting tool, on which we skewered two sausages and gave them the right color and taste over the fire. We felt like real woodsmen, which was enhanced by the refined company in the neighboring enclosure, consisting of a group of bison including a small calf.

From the bison, we walked past the parrots to the old enclosure of our mascot – the red panda. One panda still resides here, but the other is already living in a new enclosure, which is not only beautiful, but above all much larger and full of trees. We therefore visited both our protégés and took a few photos for the family album.
With a pleasant walk, we also reached the newly opened Anubis baboon pavilion. Unfortunately, we missed the grand opening, but we went to see the enclosure at least. The baboons have both indoor quarters and a beautiful and spacious outdoor enclosure at their disposal. Sweet melons and fruit were waiting for them as a welcome.

Finally, we walked through the lower part of the garden, took a few last photos of the animals, and went home to rest. We definitely did not regret it – we can only recommend a visit to the Brno Zoo to everyone! There is always something new to see, whether it is new enclosures, exhibits, or freshly born cubs.
