Dakine

The Dakine brand was established in 1979 in Hawaii. It started as a manufacturer of surfboard leashes, and seven years later, its first North American branch was founded in Oregon, where its headquarters remain today. It was the Dakine brand that first started producing snowboard accessories and fashion.

During the 1990s, the company introduced three models of winter gloves and an innovative type of backpack, the Heli Pack, which was the first so-called functional backpack. In 1998, it launched the first backpack designed exclusively for skateboarding. At the beginning of the new millennium, Dakine also began to produce accessories for kiteboarding. Dakine currently offers winter and summer clothing, accessories, and especially the legendary functional backpacks.
