New XD Design Bobby Pro and Bobby Tech backpacks – the best for your electronics

July 22, 2019 3 min read
The XD Design brand is synonymous with ingeniously designed backpacks that protect your laptop from damage and theft. In the name of never-ending innovation, however, this manufacturer has now gone even further. The latest versions of the iconic Bobby backpack will dazzle you! As the name suggests, both backpacks come from the Bobby backpack collection, which means they are practically impregnable and designed so that it is impossible to take anything without your knowledge.

You won't find a single zipper or pocket on the front of the backpack – everything is cleverly hidden behind the wearer's back. Furthermore, the backpack is made of a material that is virtually cut-proof. While Bobby backpacks can be useful for everyone, they are ideal for electronics and other valuables.

What fits inside?

But let's get back to the Pro and Tech models. The advantage of both backpacks is the variable interior space and a number of smaller compartments. You won't have any trouble organizing things inside, and you will always know where to reach. The main space of the backpack can be separated by a zippered fabric divider, which helps keep things in place. If you don't want to use it, it can simply be rolled into an inner pocket.

You can also insert adjustable padded dividers into the main compartment, which you attach with Velcro. Thanks to them, you can be sure that your stored camera or camcorder won't "bounce" inside the backpack while walking or bump into other things, preventing any damage.

Speaking of electronics, both backpacks are ready for them. There are two separate padded compartments for a laptop and tablet in the main chamber, and you can charge your electronics on the go using the integrated USB port.

In the back section, there is also a hidden padded pocket that is perfectly sized for a tablet or e-book reader. It is great, for example, when waiting at the airport, as you don't have to open the main compartment of the backpack at all. The lower back pocket also boasts RFID protection, making it ideal for storing your passport.

Because the Bobby Pro and Bobby Tech backpacks have no front or side pockets for security reasons, it was necessary to make maximum use of the back of the backpack so that the owner doesn't have to open the whole thing every time they want to take something out. This was a complete success!

In addition to two compartments in the back panel, the manufacturer also made great use of the shoulder straps. In the right strap, there is a small, secret pocket with RFID protection – ideal for storing a payment card, which you will always have at hand. The other shoulder strap is equipped with the so-called Fidlock system. Thanks to it, you can hang a mobile phone holder or a size-adjustable bottle or thermal mug holder on the shoulder strap. Both holders are included with the backpack.

The master with a solar panel

Have you already fallen in love with the Bobby Pro and Bobby Tech backpacks and don't know which one to choose? Let's look at how the two models differ. They are almost identical in design, but the main difference is undoubtedly the solar panel on the front of the backpack, which the XD Design Bobby Tech model boasts. So, you just need a little sunshine and you can happily charge your smartphone. A charging module allowing wireless charging will also help with this.

XD Design Bobby Tech

Bobby backpacks hardly have any competition on today's market, and the company continues to push further and further when designing new models, incorporating the latest technologies and aiming for maximum user comfort. The Pro and Tech models are clear proof of this.

We are curious to see what kind of features the XD Design brand will move towards next. Do you have a guess? Let us know in the comments!
