You surely remember that some time ago we sent our Pandora, the oldest plush panda holding a protective hand over the whole pack, on an expedition to America. And it was no ordinary expedition! A group of several adventurers was preparing to travel through Central and South America on outdoor scooters. Do you guess that sooner or later they realized it was a really bad idea? You are mistaken – they are still enjoying it!
Although the original group of determined scooter riders split up due to slight disagreements regarding the travel plan, the hard core led by Pandora stayed together. In addition to our panda, we are currently keeping our fingers crossed for Sanya, Kacka, Lukas, and Tomas. Regardless of the number, there is definitely no shortage of unforgettable experiences and adventures!

Among the places that enchanted the participants the most are the Costa Rican beach Playa Grande or the breathtaking waterfalls in Minca. In this town, they also met other Czech travelers with adventurous souls, so in addition to a sense of belonging, they also exchanged valuable advice and tips on where it is definitely worth going.

But there is no shortage of unforgettable moments even when the scooters are resting. One day, the vehicles were left in the care of helpful firefighters for a while, and the expedition members set off to the town of Barranquilla, where they participated in a traditional Colombian carnival. Although they enjoyed it immensely, when their arranged couchsurfing accommodation "fell through", they had to look for another option in a hurry. In the end, everything turned out well, and a ride to the hotel in a police car ranked high on the list of fun "behind-the-scenes stories".

Although they have more than enough movement thanks to the scooters, some views simply require a little extra effort. This was also the case for the lookout in the town of Guatapé, where the panda and everyone else had to climb 740 steps. But that hard work was definitely worth it!
You will also surely be interested in how the expedition members eat. Since they don't have a stove with them, they eat mainly beans and food that does not need to be cooked. When an opportunity arises to sleep, for example, with the aforementioned firefighters, they most often prepare pasta. Once in a while, they treat themselves and stop at a restaurant for some "normal" food, but only very rarely. Fortunately, hospitality in these countries is huge, so it often happens that someone gives them a basket of fruit, water, or another generous and edible gift.
Since the expedition is currently conquering the Andes, traveling by scooter is even more demanding than at the beginning. However, everyone is brave and nothing easily fazes them. They are currently in Colombia and are continuing along muddy roads further through South America.
And if you have noted with concern the news about the extensive landslide in Colombia, you can rest easy. Fortunately, this tragic event did not endanger the expedition.

We wish you continued strength and many more kilometers without complications!
