When choosing a new suitcase, I wanted to consider several key criteria. First and foremost was the material durability, followed by volume and, of course, appearance. Well, okay, I admit it – I was first charmed by the design and only then looked for logical reasons to buy it. :-) But it turned out well – I really did find some strong arguments.
What are they?
Durability you cannot resist
The Titan Paradoxx suitcase is made of flexible, durable polypropylene, which can withstand even very rough handling at the airport. Polypropylene is a bit like a highly compressed PET bottle – you can squeeze it and nothing happens, it just returns to its original shape.
There is no need to worry too much about potential scratches either. Thanks to a special manufacturing process for polypropylene suitcases, the material used is completely solid-colored. Any scratches therefore have the same color as the surface of the suitcase. (In contrast, with polycarbonate or ABS plastic, which usually has a base color and then a layer with a specific shade, the unsightly base material shows through when scratched, making the scratch much more visible. That is not a risk with the Paradoxx.)
Also, the wheels and the trolley handle are made of high-quality plastic, so they handle air travel without any problems. After several flights, the suitcase is truly fine, so the material passed the test without issues.
Practicality that surprises
But what about the color? A white suitcase, it will get dirty immediately! But not at all, all suitcase colors get dirty just the same. It is true, however, that I was a bit worried that smudges on the white surface would be visible soon, and I would be sorry about that. So, I prudently bought a BG Berlin Paris cover to keep my handsome companion nice and safe. The suitcase survived all trips without a single scratch or stain. True, the cover took a bit of a beating, but you can just throw it in the washing machine and it looks like new.
What I really like about the Paradoxx is the expander, even on the medium size (this is often a feature of size L suitcases). This gives the suitcase a wider range of use. I can use it for a weekend trip with my husband, where we both pack into it, as well as for a week-long vacation. If I unzip the expander, the suitcase volume is enough even for a fourteen-day stay.
Naturally, there are four double wheels for easy movement, even on rougher terrain. The telescopic handle has two locking positions, which will suit both taller and shorter people. For carrying, the suitcase has two handles – one on the top for quick lifting and carrying, and for longer stretches, you can use the side handle.
Equipment that does not disappoint
The interior layout of the suitcase is more or less standard. You can completely close one half using a zippered fabric divider. It also has two pockets for smaller items – one mesh, one solid. On this half of the suitcase, there is also an expander, with which you can increase the storage space by about 8 liters.
In the right half of the suitcase, you will find compression straps made of strong elastic rubber with a high-quality plastic buckle. When using the expander, it is better to "stack" things here, tighten them with the straps, and then close the whole load with the deepened lid.
The lining color is neutral gray, so it will not offend either ladies or gentlemen.
A standard feature is the TSA lock recessed into the side of the suitcase. You can safely secure the zipper pulls into the lock, thereby protecting the contents of the luggage from unwanted visitors. Among the small features, I only miss an integrated name tag. I lost a regular name tag on my very first trip, so a built-in space for a name and contact would be the final step toward the perfection of this suitcase.
So, what to say in conclusion? Perhaps just a little wisdom: When the heart and the head agree, love at first sight can turn into a lasting relationship. And that applies to choosing a suitcase too. :-)
