We would like to introduce you to our adorable guides. Pandora and Akim are two siblings, red pandas and travellers through and through. They will guide you not only through the wide world but also through our e-shop, advice section, and blog. Although they are family, each of them approaches packing and travel completely differently.
Pandora: The Expert in Planning and Details
Pandora loves adventure, but at the same time, she likes to prepare everything in advance and systematically. It is she who will present the most information-packed articles for you.
- Her domain: She finds exactly the luggage she needs for a given trip, not forgetting accessories and helpers that might come in handy.
- Preparation: She finds out everything about the destination, reads guidebooks, secures flight tickets, and thoroughly checks transportation in advance.
- Superpower: Thanks to her meticulousness, she feels right at home in large metropolises and international airports – she knows exactly what to look out for and how not to get lost.
Akim: The Impulsive One Who Follows His Intuition
Akim, unlike his sister, is quite a force of nature. He embodies the joy of the moment and the freedom that travel brings.
- His style: For travel, a quality backpack that fits him is usually enough.
- Planning: He leaves the preparations to his sister and lets himself be enchanted by the power of the moment.
- Superpower: He acts impulsively, follows his intuition, and it usually works out for him! He has great ideas and is afraid of almost nothing.
Pandora and Akim are not just theorists – they regularly test their backpacks and suitcases in practice on trips around the world. Their greatest adventures, colourful reports, and a ton of photos can be found on our travel blog Panda Travels.
What happens when these two plan a trip?
They prefer to travel together, as they complement each other perfectly. They just agreed to go on a shorter trip to warmer climes.
Akim runs up to Pandora and excitedly asks her: "How about flying to Peru? I'd really love to see Machu Picchu!" Pandora doesn't even have time to look up from her tablet when Akim adds: "I know it's far and we wanted to stay in Europe, but I just saw a really interesting documentary..."
Pandora stops him: "Wait, Akim, of course we can fly to Peru sometime, I'd also like to see Machu Picchu and hike the Inca Trail, but it's the rainy season there now, and I'd rather go somewhere dry and not so far away. I'm looking at flights to Málaga. It could be warmer in southern Spain than here, and I desperately need to warm up."
She shivers with cold as she looks outside, where thick grey clouds give the sun no chance to penetrate and warm up the still short January day even a little. Akim immediately gets excited about Spain: "Oh yeah! I'm cold here too, in Málaga the sun might even shine sometimes, right?"
Pandora agrees: "Most importantly, it will be light for longer there; at this time of year, the sun sets almost two hours later than here at home in Brno. And there's a carnival happening there this winter – that could be fun! Get your travel backpack for the plane ready, we'll only fly with hand luggage to save money. I'll get the tickets, find out the allowed dimensions, find some accommodation, plan our itinerary, maybe we could fly directly from Brno...".
And she's already immersed in planning. She taps on her tablet, pulls out a notebook and pencil, writes, and doesn't notice Akim, who in the meantime is pulling his backpack out of the wardrobe and searching further inside to find his long-unused Spiderman costume.

Why a Red Panda?
Perhaps you're wondering why these furry creatures became the faces of Bagalio. It all started with our sponsorship of a red panda female at Brno Zoo. We quickly realised that red pandas and Bagalio simply belong together.
The red panda (known in Chinese as hun ho or "fire fox") is an incredibly curious creature. It is at home in the forests of Asia, loves heights, but also doesn't disdain places near water. For us, it is a symbol of the ideal traveller:
- It has a compact size (just like the best cabin luggage).
- It is agile and can handle any terrain.
- With its adorable appearance, it brings a smile to the face of everyone it meets.
Because it is an endangered species, it is an honour for us to support them and, through Pandora and Akim, bring you joy and practical advice.
