The school bell will soon announce the end of the long summer break, a forest of hands will rise above the desks, and notebooks will begin to fill with notes. Yes, the new school year is just around the corner. And even though we are long past our school days, we are part of it too.
We are reminded of our childhood years in front of the blackboard especially when we help you choose the best school bag or backpack for your students. Fortunately, we are not alone in this and have reliable allies! One of them is Hama, with whom we hosted a fun and educational event for (future) students and their parents at our store on August 16th.
Wednesday afternoon was all about trying on school bags and backpacks and imagining what school will be like. The transition from kindergarten to the "adult" world of the first grade is a big deal, and we don't take it lightly. However, the textbooks, notebooks, snacks, and stationery that children have to carry every day are not light either. Given their weight, it is as if we adults were carrying a 25kg backpack on our backs. That is why we realize that school bags must not only be practical and high-quality but also as gentle as possible on children's backs, spines, and shoulders.
To help children choose a school bag that really fits them, we invited experts in school supplies from Hama. Everyone can truly find the right school bag with us. Everything could be thoroughly tried on, touched, and inspected. And so that interested parties could get a realistic picture of what a daily school load looks like and, most importantly, how much it weighs, we prepared a sample volume of notebooks and textbooks.
And what does the term suitable school bag actually mean? First and foremost, a perfectly fitting back system (ideally height-adjustable, so it lasts for several years), then a waist belt that relieves the shoulders of up to two-thirds of the actual weight, practical internal organization, and an easy-to-operate secure closure (e.g., magnetic). When it comes to safety, reflective elements are a matter of course. A waterproof snack pocket equipped with an insulating layer is also useful, so the food inside stays fresh longer. If your child happens to spill a bottle in the bag, the sweet juice won't leak into the notebooks and textbooks.
And to make the arrival or return to school joyful, children took home small gifts from us in addition to their new gear. Instead of just boringly filling out contact details, the store was bursting with all the colors of crayons, and brightly colored competition tickets flew straight into the winning school bag.
